Duplex Apartment

At first glance, two identical levels. In fact, two states of the same home: day and evening.

A young couple asked for a modern, bright interior with fluid openness and privacy where it matters. We kept the same logic on both levels — an open-plan living room with kitchen plus private rooms — and shifted the temperature and rhythm.

Size / 264 sq.m.

Year / 2025

Location / Limassol, Cyprus

Concept

Materials echo across both floors — wood, stone, soft textiles — yet the feel diverges.

  • Lower level — day mode: lighter, more transparent, oriented to natural light and flow. A sculptural marble stair and a living olive tree anchor the space.

  • Upper level — evening mode: deeper accents, a denser rug, and low veined-stone tables make it more grounded. A private lounge with a ceiling projector sets up movie nights, while the kitchen island doubles as a casual bar.

Space

On each level, the open living–kitchen zone supports gatherings, while private rooms hold the quiet: window-side work spots, bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms with built-in niches for order. Sheer curtains soften daylight; after dusk, linear and cove lighting take over — no theatrics, just mood.

Materials & lighting

Warm wood, stone (including marble), neutral fabrics. Layered lighting — general, linear, cove and accent — to move seamlessly from morning to late evening.
